Advent Hymn 🎼 He Is Born The Divine Christ Child đźŽ¶

A lively traditional French carol entitled Il est nĂ©, le Divin Enfant expresses overflowing joy for the long-promised arrival of the divine Christ Child. It was first published in 1865 by Jean-Romain Grosjean and Paul Webster, organist of the Cathedral of Saint-DiĂ©-des-Vosges. Unfortunately, most English translations only have three verses, while the French include two more. Below are the translated verses 3 and 4, which urge us to give Christ our heart and acknowledge Him as Almighty King.

He wants our hearts; he waits for them:
He is there to make their conquest
He wants our hearts; he waits for them:
So, let’s give them to him promptly! Chorus

O Jesus! O Almighty King
Little Child that you are,
O Jesus! O Almighty King,
Rule over us fully

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
    He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
 16 for through him God created everything
    in the heavenly realms and on earth.
 He made the things we can see
    and the things we can’t see—
 such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
    Everything was created through him and for him.
 17 He existed before anything else,
    and he holds all creation together.
 18 Christ is also the head of the church,
    which is his body.
 He is the beginning,
    supreme over all who rise from the dead.
    So he is first in everything.
 19 For God in all his fullness
    was pleased to live in Christ,
 20 and through him God reconciled
    everything to himself.
 He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth
    by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. ~ Colossians 1:15-20
The Supreme King by ems 12/21/21
Who doesn’t love special events? We experience such exhilaration when the day finally arrives for something we have long anticipated.
To experience what we have dreamed of for so long can ignite our emotions. We may dance in celebration or even raise our voices in song.
When God created the heavens and the earth, He did so with words; He spoke into being all created things through the unity of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The heavenly hosts of angels delighted in God’s creativity and rejoiced over the details.
 Then, once again, all heaven rejoiced when the King of all creation took on human flesh and arrived as a baby. We, too, can join this celebration when we realize that this Child is more than a tiny infant—He is the designer of the Universe!
 Jesus, the visible image of the invisible God, the One who existed before time began, stepped onto earth with the smallest footprints in Bethlehem’s small village. The timeless one stepped into time so we could step into eternity.
 The people of the Old Testament looked forward through the prophecies to the coming of the Messiah. Likewise, the New Testament people experienced life with Jesus the Messiah and looked back at the promises.
 We have the unique opportunity to look back over all these records, study the response of those who waited, and consider the reaction of those who saw. We, too, are in a waiting period because Christ promised to return again. His second coming will signal the end of time and the beginning of eternity.
 God waits for our hearts to respond to His indescribable gift.
 Jesus came to bring peace between heaven and earth, God and man.
 May you experience God’s peace that surpasses understanding as you welcome the Supreme King to your heart.
 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest,
    and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” ~ Luke 2:13-14
 Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Your great power is displayed in all of creation.
I’m so thankful You didn’t stop with this general revelation but gave us specific revelation through the Bible and clarified this for us when You sent Jesus, who came to testify to the truth. In me, there is no merit worthy of a relationship with You, yet You provided forgiveness through Jesus’ loving sacrifice. Therefore, I kneel before Your Supreme Throne in humble adoration and thanksgiving!
