“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” ~ Hebrews 11:1

Faith is a gift from God’s heart to ours. (Romans 12:3)
Faith is a guaranteed assurance that God is trustworthy.
God is who He says He is, and what He has promised has happened, is happening, and will happen. (God cannot lie, Titus1:1b-2)
Faith is necessary and required to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)
Faith can be increased by hearing and reading God’s Living Word, The Bible. (Romans 10:17)
Faith can be proven, exercised, and strengthened, primarily through trials. (1 Peter 1:7)
Faith will one day cease when we see God. (1 Corinthians 13:12-13)
As I ponder faith, I realize it’s such a remarkable gift God gives us. First, he reveals Himself to us and then provides us with a seed of faith (of which every person has some measure) so that we commence our walk with Him.
In God’s uncontained vastness, He plants in the garden of our heart a faith seed that He causes to grow through His life-giving word and by the experiences we venture through on life’s path. In God’s wisdom, He enables us to start small and increases faith as we cultivate nearness with Him.
God is everywhere, and at times He manifests His great power to remind us of His omnipotence and omnipresence.
Yet, while it begins as a tiny seed gift, faith must be cultivated day by day to see lasting results in the here and now and for all eternity.
It’s not enough to have the Word of God yet be lacking in drawing near to Him. If we are faithful to draw near God, He promises to draw near us. Closer and closer, until one day we see Him face to face!
You can cultivate your faith by reading the Bible each day.
By reading 3-5 chapters daily, it’s possible to read the entire Bible in a year or less. In addition, there are many reading plans online to guide you. For example, together, my husband and I will read 3-4 chapters in the Old Testament and 1-2 chapters in the New each night after dinner. Find a plan that fits you here:
Find your story in God’s story – it’s His love letter to us. This investment will give you daily guidance and strength and give you eternal dividends.
