Be thankful for a kingdom that cannot be shaken.

Hebrews 12:28

Have you ever experienced an earthquake?
It can be unsettling as you recognize what is happening.
In fact, any life event can surprise and overwhelm us if we don’t have the proper perspective. Yet shaking is welcomed for some things, like when we sift the flour to make a cake or when farmers sift freshly harvested rice to remove the chaff. These processes improve things and provide lasting results.

God, who created all things, is also in control of all things. Every one of His promises will become a reality. One thing we can be thankful for is that one day, God will remove the things that can be shaken, meaning things that are temporary. He will also deal with and remove all evil.

The last book in the Bible, Revelation, gives us a glimpse of what that will look like. It says,

“3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” ~ Revelation 21:3-5

Because God is faithful and cannot lie, we can trust His words are true. At the end of time, in the future, all who believe and receive Jesus will enjoy an everlasting kingdom, a dwelling place with God where there will no longer be sin, disappointments, conflicts, or death! We can be grateful for this unshakable Kingdom, which will never end.

So, what do you now do when your world seems to collapse and you are crushed in spirit? Look up because God sees everything; He is The King, and His justice will reign. God is omniscient (He sees all), present everywhere (He is omnipresent), and can take care of everything because He is all-powerful (omnipotent). And God cares for you. Life can be difficult, but God is an ever-present help in the midst of it all.

God has an unshakeable Kingdom that will not fade nor be destroyed, and He wants to share it with you! God desires that we know Him and enjoy Him forever. You can get to know God through the pages of the Bible. God’s plan from the beginning was to restore our relationship with Him through Jesus. Jesus came and moved into the neighborhood so we could understand what our Heavenly Father is like. He revealed God’s character to us.

That’s why we pray, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.” Because God is good, His will is also good, acceptable, and perfect.

We can be thankful that God’s Kingdom is an everlasting one that we can enjoy forever. Let’s be grateful that God wants to dwell with us again. Let’s serve God with reverence and awe.

I pray that you will know God with all of your being and have the hope of heaven, the unshakable Kingdom!
