Meeting God Face To Face

Establishing a Daily Quiet Time is one of the most rewarding disciplines I have experienced in my walk with the Lord. Spending time alone with my Heavenly Abba has given me life direction, comfort, and answers as well as questions.

            The hearing, reading, studying, memorizing of, and meditating on the Word of God, has aided me to make major (and minor) life decisions. Oftentimes, I come away from God’s presence with such awe as I have understood just a little bit more of His character. Journals filled over the years with treasured, gold nuggets of truth reflect this consistent investment with my Creator. The fruit (or dividends) of my Daily Quiet Time has yielded articles, devotions, some poetry, and Bible studies scribed by me and freely shared with others out of my full and overflowing cup.

“And in the early morning, while it was still dark, He arose and went out and departed to a lonely place, and was praying there.”

 ~ Mark 1:35

            Mark records in his gospel the above verse about Jesus and His purposeful prayer life.  The Son of God, the Messiah Yeshua “would often slip away to the wilderness and pray” observes Dr. Luke (Luke 5:42; 5:16). Matthew’s gospel also confirms this eyewitness to our Lord’s devotional life (Matthew 14:23).

If the Creator of the world needed this, how much more do we?

How to Have CLASS with God

C   –   Consistency-        Decide a time for Bible study and prayer;
                                       Any time of day which works best for you,                                                               BUT choose a regular time, schedule it, and keep it.

L   –   Location     –         Seek a particular place, away from the crowd.                                                     Name it, secure it, and keep your Bible study                                                         materials there (Notebook, colored pencils, etc.)

A   –   Availability –        Maintain an openness to receive His teaching,                                                      following His agenda as the Holy Spirit
                      personally instructs. Psalm 119:18

S   –    Show            –      REMEMBER God’s phone #:  Jeremiah 33:3                                                           He promises to answer when we call upon Him.

S   –    Share           –       Seek out one person each day and ask,                                                                       “Can I share with you what God taught me today?”

Have you ever had the opportunity of meeting a favorite author and asking him or her to sign your book? We are invited to meet God face to face each day and have Him sign His character on our very soul as our mind is renewed and our lives are transformed by His eternal, living Word through the power of His Holy Spirit. May God bless you as He refreshes your soul and gives you much joy for the journey.
